Structural differences of cannabis species

Marijuana leaves aren’t just a famous symbol. The Sativa comprises long, thin leaves that are lighter in color compared to the broad, dark leaves of the Indica. Sativa flowers are usually long and whispering, with an orange-red colouration, while Indica buds have a dense and compact purple appearance. For the subspecies Ruderalis, the similarity of the leaves is typical of both Sativa and Indica. The three central leaves, as a rule, are large and long, and the remaining lateral leaves are significantly smaller, with a light green color of the leaves.

Depending on the cannabis variety, the height of the stem can vary. Sativas and hybrids, as a rule, are taller than Indica varieties. Some wild sativa varieties have branch lengths of up to 6 meters. The stem of the hemp serves as a kind of transporter of water and nutrients from the root system to the leaves. It also contains all the colas, the leaves of the bushes, and can act as a store of nutrients.
